Restart

Matty has restared his attempt at solids today. We took a hiatus on the solids, just to give him some extra time to grow amd adjust to the stress of starting a new feeding technique. He seems to have coped with the wait better than we had thought. He is now much better at his [...]

Perfectly quiet

Matty has been a dream all day! He has either been sleeping or just amusing himself, allowing Mum to catch up on a few things that have been put on hold. All of Matty’s hospital paperwork was beginning to pile up and it desperately needed sorting plus all the housework that needed to be done. [...]

Picnic in the park

Due to the daylight saving switch-back in Western Australia, both Mum and Dad’s phones did not alarm overnight, allowing us to sleep through Matty’s 3am feed. It ended up being ok as Matty cried out for us at 4am by setting off his alarm by wriggling until the probe came off his toe. Thankfully he [...]

Hey Hey, It’s Saturday

Once again, it’s been one of those days where there’s not too much to report… that’s a really good thing, because it means it’s been a pretty steady day. Matty’s actually been sleeping pretty well, with long periods of sleep during today (as well as last night). Of course, he was up fairly early because [...]

Breaking Point

Matty’s fever broke at about 1pm today. He is still not back to ‘normal’ but is now only sitting at 37.1°C. He slept for a lot of today, but when he was awake he was a little grumpier than usual. Because of the fever we have been giving Matty extra water down the Nasogastric Tube. [...]

Hot.

So as you know, yesterday was pretty boring. After writing the blog entry, I realised it was a pretty special day after all.Yesterday, Matty officially hit one month at home!
Today, Matty had his four month vaccinations. His first lot were delayed due to how sick he was, so his vaccinations are currently due on his [...]

Nothing to report

The title to this blog is pretty self explanatory. Matty has had an uneventful day.
We went to the hospital, but that was not to check him out, but for me to chat to Ambulatory Care, the group of people who are on call for us should we need any assistance. Sort of like the Health [...]

Much better

Today was better for all of us. Busy, but better.
Matty went to PMH today for his Audiology appointment and the audiologist is happy with Matty’s hearing. He reacted nicely to the different noises that she made using musical instruments, however, when she looked inside his ears she noticed that he has a condition known as [...]

Running around

Overall, Matty had a pretty uneventful day. He vomited a couple more times, and of course, that leads to more washing, but nothing we haven’t dealt with before. When I asked the doctors last week about Matty vomiting more often than usual, they do not see it as a problem because he is still gaining [...]

Washing Day

We had to do a couple of loads of washing today as Matty thought it might be nice to cover both Mum and Dad with vomit, at two separate feeding times. We have temporarily raised the head end of his cot to help with the reflux and cut down the amount of milk he is [...]
